This morning was extremely hot with well over 30°C but a heavy and long lasting thunderstorm hit us in the afternoon. The icy shower cooled the temperature by 10°C in the afternoon. The number of ringed birds was less than a day before. Today highlights: Black Stork 49 (All the birds were spending the night in the nearby forest and started to use termics in the morning time when the temperature rose rapidly. It was an incredible view to see all the birds hovering over us.) White Stork 2 (joined to the Black Stork's flock) Purple Heron 4 Eurasian Kestrel 1 Eurasian Hobby 1 Eurasian Oystercatcher 1 (juv.) Northern Lapwing 15 Little Ringed Plover 2 Common Sandpiper 3 Wood Sandpiper 30 Spotted Redshank 4 Common Redshank 2 Common Greenshank 4 Dunlin 6 --- A mai délelőtt rendkívül meleg volt jóval túl a 30°C, de délután egy komolyabb vihar zúdúlt a Ferencmajorra. A jeges felhőszakadás nyomán a hőmérséklet 10°C fokkal csökkent délutánra. A fogott madarak száma alacsonyabb volt, mint egy nappal korábban. Legfontosabbak: Fekete gólya 49 (Valamennyi madár az Által-ér-menti erdökben éjszakázott, majd a hőmérséklet emelkedésével termikeltek fel. Rendkívüli látvány volt, ahogy a fejünk felett húztak el a tavak felé.) Fehér gólya 2 (a fekete gólya csapathoz csatlakozott) Vörös gém 4 Vörös vércse 1 Kabasólyom 1 Csigaforgató 1 (juv.)
