Went out today for a short birding. Despite it was in the morning time the weather was extremely hot. The whole area looked like normally in mid July. The bird numbers and the activity is quite moderate. On the only drained pond the vegetation grow up covering 90% of the mudflat. Avocets and Stilts still had full clutches on the breeing island. Not sure how many pairs breeding at the moment as the adults behaved quite defensive and left the nests. Shorebird numbers counted as follows: Pied Avocet 18 (one 1 day old chick on the breeding island) Black-winged Stilt 5 Northern Lapwing 140 Little Ringed Plover 15 Black-tailed Godwit 2 Spotted Redshank 6 Common Greenshank 1 Common Redshank 45 Wood Sandpiper 10 Green Sandpiper 6 Whiskered Tern 1 ---------- Egy rövid terepszemlére mentem ma ki. Annak ellenére, hogy korán kint voltam a hőmérséklet már az egekben járt. A terület már-már a július közepi állapotokat mutatta mind a mennyiségekben, mind az aktivitásban. Az egyetlen száraz tómedret már 30-40 cm magas vegetáció borítja mintegy 90%-ban. A gulipánoknak és a gólyatöcsöknek még mindig teljes fészekaljai vannak. Nem vagyok benne biztos, hogy hány költőpár van most a tavon, mert az öreg madarak területféltő magatartása miatt ezt nem tudtam megállapítani. Számolt partimadár mennyiségek: Gulipán 18 (egy 1 napos fiókát is láttam a költőszigeten) Gólyatöcs 5 Bíbic 140 Kis lile 15 Nagy goda 2 Füstös cankó 6 Szürke cankó 1 Piroslábú cankó 45 Réti cankó 10 Erdei cankó 6 Fattyúszerkő 1
